Berlin – FC Ingolstadt was not eligible to play in the VBL Club Championship for two years. Now the FIFA team is back and has directly qualified for the final tournament for the championship.
At the end of the regular season, the FCI celebrated a win against the reigning VBL champions from 1. FC Heidenheim and is in first place in the south-east division with 130 points.
It is possible that Ingolstadt will be ousted from the top of the table. At pursuer RB Leipzig, currently second, the doubles game of the game against SV Sandhausen is still pending. This could not take place on Wednesday and will be made up for. However, both teams are qualified for the final tournament of the VBL Club Championship.
The race for places three to six, which entitle you to take part in the VBL CC playoffs, was similarly close. TSG Hoffenheim experienced a tailor-made matchday here. Thanks to the victories against Ingolstadt and Nürnberg, who also qualified for the playoffs, they jumped from sixth to fourth place.
Also in the playoffs: FC Augsburg and defending champion Heidenheim. Hertha BSC narrowly missed the VBL playoffs. Three points separate the capital club from the playoff ranks in seventh place.
