Berlin – FC Ingolstadt 04 has defended its lead in the south-east division of the FIFA VBL Club Championship. In the featured match against SpVgg Greuther Fürth, the Ingolstadt team secured six important points (6:1; 2:3; 2:0).
For a brief moment, the e-sportsmen from RB Leipzig were able to breathe air at the top of the table. However, the team around the reigning individual champion Umut “Umut” Gültekin stumbled in the last game of the day against 1. FSV Mainz 05 (4: 1; 1: 3; 0: 1). With the win over Fürth, Ingolstadt again overtook Leipzig and now has a narrow lead of one point.
In the north-west division, leaders Hannover 96 remain sovereign. Werder Bremen follows four points behind. The two doubles games in Hanover were postponed due to illness. Potentially, the e-sportsmen can set themselves apart by another six points.
