Star Wars is much more than just epic space battles and heroic Jedi Knights. The saga has always paid particular attention to the variety of creatures, aliens and droids that come to life in its world. But what looks impressive in the virtual world often requires equally impressive technical skills and technological know-how in reality.
Not cute anymore: Lightning Cosplay recreates lifelike Nix
An outstanding example of this is the work of the duo von Lightning Cosplay. These two talented artists took on the task of transferring the character Nix, the faithful companion of Kay Vess from the game, into the real world. The result is a stunning, lifelike replica that not only amazes at first glance, but could also hold its own in a real film shoot.
The little sidekick Nix, who seems rather cute and cute in the game, gets a touch of Gremlin aesthetic in this real version. With over 500 hand-painted scales and weighing 2.5 kilograms, the doll is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. Different techniques such as 3D printing, molding and casting and electrostatic flocking were used to make this figure as realistic as possible. Nix was also equipped with movable eyes, eyelids and a mouth, all of which can be controlled with one hand.
With a total length of around one meter, including the tail, the replica corresponds to the original scale from the game. This impressive work shows once again how creative and technically demanding the fusion of the digital and real world can be – and further blurs the boundaries between virtual adventures and tangible reality.
Star Wars Outlaws on the way to a better game
Nothing can get in Star Wars Outlaws can be experienced to its fullest extent as Ubisoft continually improves the game. Since its release in September, two extensive updates have already been released, which not only fixed numerous bugs, but also further increased the graphical quality and immersion experience. Ubisoft has a long-term plan to Star Wars Outlaws making it the dream game of every Star Wars fan. The current patch notes for update 1.2 can be read here.
