Ingebrigtsen sets the 5th fastest time in history at Liévin

Pole pole: Duplantis wins (5.86 m), but must stop prematurely

The eagerly awaited pole vault competition of the Liévin indoor meeting did not keep its promises on Tuesday with the victory of the Swede Armand Duplantis who stopped prematurely after having crossed 5.86 m.

The Swede, at the top of the world records with 6.03 m, had to be satisfied with two jumps: he passed 5.60 m and 5.86 m each time on his first attempt, but the world record holder ( 6.18 m) made, after his second jump, sign with a grimace that he was stopping his competition and quickly put on his tracksuit.

Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie, back over 6m this season (6.02m), failed three times at 5.92m and had to settle for 5.80m, synonymous with third place.
