ING lowers the default limit in the mobile banking app from 5,000 euros to 2,000 euros. Later this year, the bank will also adjust the limit for internet banking. The maximum amounts that you can withdraw or withdraw per day are a point of attention, ING said.
This has everything to do with fraud: preventing it and keeping the amounts involved as low as possible. ING therefore advises customers to set the limit in the app, which you can adjust yourself, as low as possible. This way you also keep the damage in the event of fraud as low as possible.
The bank is now running a campaign to point out to customers that you can adjust the daily limit. “After that, the standard daily limit will be reduced as of February 8,” ING said. “This makes it more difficult for scammers to cause major financial damage.”
You can always adjust the limit in the app, down and up to 50,000 euros. When the limit is increased, it takes four hours before it takes effect. “This waiting time for a limit increase has been introduced to prevent telephone scams and bank help desk fraud,” says the bank. If you lower the limit, it will take effect immediately.
The daily limit in the app determines the amount you can transfer to another account per day. The limit also applies to iDEAL payments that you confirm with the app. The limit does not apply to transfers between own (savings) accounts, direct debits or periodic transfers.
The limit is now 1,500 euros per day for paying with your card or telephone and 500 euros for withdrawing money. You can also adjust those limits.
