ING sells Makelaarsland again after three years | Financial

Makelaarsland was founded in 2005 and is active as an online broker. By allowing digitization and customers to do a lot themselves, the company can be cheaper than traditional brokers. For example, home sellers themselves supervise the viewings by potential buyers and prepare their own sales texts.

‘Financial department store’

ING bought Makelaarsland in 2018 as part of its strategy to serve the customer as a ‘financial department store’. However, the bank now states that it cannot give Makelaarsland the desired growth and that the company is better off on its own feet.

After the takeover, all Makelaarsland employees will keep their jobs. All clients of the broker also move with them.
