ING Germany Provides Energy Cost Subsidy as Inflation Compensation Bonus to Employees

ING Germany will again pay an energy cost subsidy of up to 1,500 euros. All full-time and part-time employees as well as trainees and dual students receive the full bonus with their November salary. Interns, working students and part-time employees receive a grant of 500 euros. This is the result of negotiations with the two service unions DBV and Verdi, as the direct bank reports.

Verdi already demanded in the summer that banks pay an inflation premium again in order to relieve the burden on their employees in view of the persistently high prices. Companies can pay out the bonus totaling up to 3,000 euros to each employee by the end of 2024. The amount is tax-free if employers make the payments in addition to wages. ING is one of the institutes that has already paid its employees a bonus.

Success for unions
“As an employer, ING Germany has a social responsibility. This is expressly important to us. In October last year, we took up the political impulse at an early stage and supported our employees with an energy cost subsidy,” says Nick Jue, CEO of ING Germany . “The payment of a second inflation compensation bonus is important support for employees in a still tense economic situation.
