Cases of theft and intentional damage to infrastructure on the electricity distribution network are among the main causes of outages, according to Jirama. Recently, problems caused by this scourge have caused damage to the Ambohimanambola-Antsirabe network. After solving the problem, Jirama technicians decided to strengthen the infrastructure. Since last weekend, they have replaced poles, pylons and insulators at several points on the axis between Ihazolava and Antsirabe. For officials at the state company, the objective is to prevent cases of frequent power cuts. Indeed, considerable improvements have been observed in Jirama’s electricity production; however, flaws are still seen in its distribution network. In addition, the technicians are continuing the infrastructure control work on this long Ambohimanambola-Antsirabe network, in order to identify the weak points to be reinforced and to resolve the existing problems, before they cause further damage to the entire electricity distribution network.
