Informer Hamer: ‘We really have to hurry’ | Inland

According to Hamer, the new unrest within the CDA around MP Pieter Omtzigt has no influence on the formation. “The conversations we had today were just as they would have been yesterday,” she says after her conversations with party leaders Mark Rutte (VVD) and Sigrid Kaag (D66). Hamer only wants to say that she finds it ‘very sad’ ‘what is happening within the CDA’.

Rutte also said after his conversation with Hamer that he does not think that the CDA situation is bothering the formation: “I don’t believe it.” He still thinks the CDA is a stable party: “I think so.” Kaag did not want to make any statements about the CDA afterwards: “Mr Omtzigt is at home with a burnout, I wish him a lot of rest.”

Hamer does not yet know when she will find the parties that should lead the cabinet together. “That will certainly come into view at some point,” says the informer, who also urges the parties that exclude variants to hurry: “I still think we should really hurry. My patience is very great, but parties should not really rely on that.”

On Monday, Hamer will talk again with party leaders. Then she receives the Hoekstra/Segers, Hoekstra/Ploumen and Ploumen/Klaver couples.
