Information to Dagbladet: – Dispute over the management

There has long been speculation as to who will step in and take over as the new deputy chairman of KrF.

With support at crisis point, the party must find a deputy leader before the autumn’s fateful election.

Two candidates in particular have been mentioned as favourites: Ida Lindtveit Røse and Jorunn Gleditsch Lossius. They are referred to as very different, and this is therefore important for the kind of profile the management gets. None of them have answered whether they are relevant.

But according to Dagbladet’s information, Røse’s candidacy for the position of deputy leader is a question of when, not if.

Will not comment

She herself has not wanted to comment on it, beyond the fact that she is making herself available for top positions. Much can still change before the deputy leader is elected in April. She also does not want to comment on the matter now.

The second favourite, Jorunn Gleditsch Lossius, has already commented that it is nice to be pointed out, although she also said that it is early in the process.

Not from the Bible Belt

Dagbladet’s sources state that Røse is a very good candidate, for several reasons:

She has been singled out as a favorite by Rogaland’s county leader and several key figures in the party’s center of gravity in Western Norway.

Getting a candidate who, unlike party leader Olaug Bollestad and deputy leader Dag Inge Ulstein, is not from the so-called Bible belt, is also an advantage, Dagbladet is told.

Røse is from Oppegård, while Lossius represents Agder in the south.

Some have also pointed out that Røse is young and at the same time high-profile. She is 30 years old and has previously worked as a substitute for the Minister for Children and Families in Erna Solberg’s government.

“Very different”

Dagbladet wrote on Monday that forces pulling in different directions in the party, which at the same time lacks a full election campaign team and is struggling under the barrier limit.

Several disagree about which direction the party should take.

Røse is referred to as very different from Lossius.

Lossius has been a defender of a conservative abortion view and has been defended as a candidate who can stick to KrF’s traditional values.

Røse, for his part, was the first minister to defend the current abortion law. She was also very clear in her support for gay marriage as equal to heterosexual marriage in the law.

Will not go in Ebba’s direction

Dagbladet is aware that the leader of KrF’s Swedish sister party, Ebba Busch, is a guiding star for many of the younger members of KrF. Many central figures in KrFU, whom Dagbladet has previously spoken to, want a blueprint of Busch’s recipe for success for a modern Christian party.

However, Røse has made it clear that Busch’s Kristdemokraterna is not the right direction to go.

The deputy leader is elected at KrF’s national meeting at the end of April.
