Deddy is known via his Instagram account to have reported that he was awarded the rank of titular Lieutenant Colonel by Defense Minister (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto. In loading him, Deddy puts on his TNI uniform and shakes hands with Prabowo.
“It is a great pride to receive the rank of Titular Lieutenant Colonel of Army from Defense Minister @prabowo which was endorsed by TNI Commander @jenderaltniandikaperkasa & KASAD @dudung_abdurachman,” Deddy wrote in an upload on his Instagram.
According to the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI) titular rank V is an honorary title which is obtained without performing the duties of the position as stated in the title Deddy expressed his gratitude to TNI for the rank awarded to him.
“Thanks to the big family of TNI and the Ministry of Defense for this highest recognition and trust in me. This also means starting a new journey for me to perform duties and responsibilities towards the Republic of Indonesia cleanly and impartially except for Pancasila “, he said.

Statement by Admiral Yudo
The candidate for the post of commander of the TNI, Admiral Yudo Margono, suspects that the suggestion comes from the Chief of Staff of the Army (KSAD). As mentioned by Deddy, the rank of titular lieutenant colonel was approved by KSAD General Dudung Abdurachman.
“We will ask later, because that is why the proposal started with the chief of staff,” Admiral Yudo said at the parliament compound, Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday (12/13/2022).
Yudo said the rank was approved by Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman. The commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces already knows the rank assigned.
“This was approved by the KSAD, right? There’s the TNI Commander, here, here, that’s his authority,” Yudo said.
