The campaign aims to launch the new website erdwärme-breisgau.de, which brings together all the questions and answers gathered at a glance and provides transparent information about the project.
Clear and honest communication is at the heart of the Erdwärme-Breisgau project: because projects like this can only be successful if they are supported by the population. The badenova branch badenova WÄRMEPLUS, together with the city of Freiburg, provided comprehensive information from the start, for example in the context of various dialogue and information events, supported the establishment of a city council and answered many questions from people on the geothermal project from the start of the project.
Bundled at a glance
Many of these questions from citizens can now be found on the project website under the hashtag #gutefrage and answered competently by experts. To communicate this dialogue format, badenovaWÄRMEPLUS will launch an information campaign on 11 November 2022 in the municipalities of the potential area.
Five selected questions will be picked up on posters and advertisements in official and community newspapers and will be shown with suitable motifs. For example, in one of the campaign grounds, a dog is stuck with its head underground and seems to be wondering, “What lies ahead on the ground beneath our feet?”. The answer to this #good question can be found at erdwärme-breisgau.de. There, the geology of the Upper Rhine Graben is explained in detail to visitors for the purpose of resolution. The other motifs of the campaign follow the same system according to the motto #good question – good answer.
Why the #goodquest format?
Kirsten Jahn of badenova Corporate Communications explains: “The subject of geothermal energy is very complex. However, the answers to the understandable questions and concerns of homeowners, conservationists and residents cannot be dealt with seriously and comprehensively in a single ad. Our project website, on the other hand, is the ideal channel through which we can provide well-founded and competent answers to all essential questions. ” The #goodquestion hashtag was chosen because there are no useless or bad questions on such a complex topic. “Every request is justified and we take it seriously,” says Simon Laub, project manager for geothermal energy at badenovaWÄRMEPLUS. “We would therefore like to actively invite you to a discussion and look forward to hearing from you.”
The information campaign will be launched specifically in the municipalities of Bad Krozingen, Breisach, Ehrenkirchen, Eschbach, Freiburg-Munzingen, Gottenheim, Hartheim, Heitersheim, Ihringen, Merdingen, Neuenburg, Pfaffenweiler, Schallstadt and Umkirch. it will last until mid-December and will also be distributed through badenova’s social media channels.
In the further course of the Erdwärme-Breisgau project, the evaluation of 3D seismic measurements from the potential area is planned for early next year. Detailed information in this regard will be provided to the press and the general public in due course.
Further information on the project can be viewed at any time at erdwärme-breisgau.de or at badenowaermeplus.de/geothermie
