Positive economic perception of companies listed on Infonavit
The Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) maintained that companies with employees registered with the agency had a “positive evaluation” of the perception of the behavior of the national economy corresponding to the second and third quarters of the year.
According to the National Survey of Performance and Prospects of Companies in Mexico, carried out by the institute in the first three months of 2023, nine out of 10 businessmen estimated that their income will stabilize in six months and that the situation in the economic sector will be ” good or very good”. In addition, eight out of 10 were confident that the economy “will improve next year.”
Through a statement, Infonavit explained that in terms of employment, the percentage of companies that hired new personnel, either to fill a vacant position or a new one, “was stable.”
At the same time, 49 percent of the companies consulted said they had hired new workers, 48.6 said they had not fired staff, and 78.2 percent said they had granted a salary increase “equal to or above inflation.” In turn, 88.5 percent reported that all their personnel are hired by the corporate itself. However, more than 67 percent said they saw an increase in the costs of products and services.
The survey was carried out among 1,777 companies between January and the last day of March, which forms a representative sample of the 968,097 companies contributing to the institute throughout the country./ La Jornada
