INFONAVIT right holders, whose homes show damage derived from some natural phenomenon, have up to two years to make the insurance valid.
The representative of the General Directorate of the Institute of National Housing Fund for Workers, Honorio Cortázar Salazar, explained that there are houses damaged by the recent strong winds that hit some municipalities in the south of the state.
“Those accredited who have suffered damage to their homes in the north so badly that it hit especially in the south of Tamaulipas,” said the official.
He explained that all INFONAVIT beneficiaries can access this insurance against damage to their homes, as long as they are up to date with their contributions.
Incuso said that those who are not up to date with their payments, can still access this type of support.

The beneficiaries who are in a default situation, can immediately sign an agreement to regularize and immediately access the insurance.
“So they are not helpless, our heirs, our borrowers who come to INFONAVIT with confidence, that’s what we are for,” said Cortázar Salazar.
As an example, he cited that after the rains registered last July 2021 that left flooding in Matamoros, around 6,500 supports were requested.
Of these to date, he pointed out that 87 percent of the cases have been resolved, after they were reviewed and payments have been made to all INFONAVIT beneficiaries.
