InfoLe360. Casablanca: three consortia interested in the future landfill and waste recovery center

The project for the future Landfill and Recycling Center (CEV) has reached a new stage following the opening of bids relating to the technical offers from candidate bidders. According to our information, three groups of companies have expressed interest in this project. These are the ARMA-SGTM group (Morocco), the Suez (France)-Somagec (Morocco) consortium and, finally, the Hitachi (Japan), Nareva (Morocco), Energy & Environment Investment (Japan) group.

«A commission was created to rule on the technical offers. The financial offers phase will follow before revealing the identity of the winning group.», Tells us a source close to the matter.

The project to build a new controlled landfill in Casablanca has repeatedly encountered the problem of land availability. This obstacle was then resolved after the mobilization of a plot of land of 260 hectares located in the commune of Majjatia Ouled Taleb (province of Médiouna).

The future Casablanca CEV will require an investment estimated at more than 3.1 billion dirhams (including the cost of land). The majority of this amount will be borne by the Ministry of the Interior through the General Directorate of Local Authorities (1.9 billion dirhams over 10 years). The Casablanca-Settat region will contribute, for its part, 272 million dirhams over 5 years. The rest will be financed by the municipality of Casablanca.
