Self-isolation is not required when returning from Lithuania, Finland, Liechtenstein, Cyprus, Vatican, Georgia, Japan, Rwanda, Uruguay, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Thailand. However, even when returning from these countries, the SPCC encourages standard precautions.

It has already been reported that a person arriving from abroad, where the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population exceeds 16, must observe self-isolation for 14 days.

The SPC does not recommend travel to countries with cumulative rates above 25 (14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population in the European Union, European Economic Area countries, as well as Switzerland and the United Kingdom and other individual countries), in accordance with Cabinet Regulation no. . 360 “Epidemiological precautions to limit the spread of Covid-19 infection”.

On the other hand, if a person is in self-isolation and the cumulative rate for the country from which he or she has returned does not exceed 16 per 100,000 inhabitants within 14 days, then self-isolation may be terminated.

During self-isolation, you must stay in a place of self-isolation – a place of residence or another place of residence. During this time, the person must not expose another person to the risk of infection. For example, it is not allowed to receive guests and go to work, work, public places where a lot of people stay, except to visit a store and get to a place of residence or another place of residence immediately after arriving in Latvia, using a mouth and nose mask.

The SPKC recalls that performing the Covid-19 test does not exempt 14 days from self-isolation.

The list of countries subject to special precautionary and restrictive measures is updated every Friday.

It is reported that the latest list of SPKC countries from which it is returning has come into force on Saturday at midnight 14 days of self-isolation must be observed.
