At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the state’s keenness on all its apparatus to deal immediately with any repercussions of the emergence of the “Corona emerging” virus, and the negative effects that follow on a number of sectors, indicating that the tourism sector is one of the most affected sectors, stressing that The state is currently working to reduce the burdens on the shoulders of this important sector, and to take into account its workers.
During the meeting, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities gave a presentation on dealing with the economic consequences and effects of the emergence of the “emerging corona virus”, indicating at the beginning of the presentation a set of measures that were carried out by the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Rooms and its rooms. By continuing to pay salaries to employees and ensuring their residency, this is in addition to donating to buy 160,000 units to conduct a rapid medical examination for workers in the tourism sector, and reduce the daily presence of workers in Cairo and Giza hotels by 50%.
With regard to the procedures for sterilizing hotel and tourist establishments, the Minister said: Two international companies specializing in the field of health and safety have been contracted for the purpose of passing through all hotel establishments at the level of the Republic, in order to ensure the application of the correct sterilization steps in hotels and ensure their effectiveness, as well as preparing procedures and checklists for sterilization operations In hotel facilities, and simulation models to deal with the spread of infection in hotel facilities.
The presentation also mentioned the health awareness measures that have been made available to the various workers in hotels, to ensure the dissemination of this health information on a large scale to workers in the field of tourism, in addition to the Federation’s communication with the global expertise house to agree on preparing a long-term strategy for the development of the tourism sector.
