For her part, the president of the departmental council, Marie-Christine Cavecchi (LR) – who claims to be at the origin of the 60 proposals – is delighted that “the government is finally looking at the cradle of Val-d’Oise”. Many local elected officials were then alarmed at the abandonment of the mega complex of shops and leisure, with its 3 billion euros of private investment and its 10,000 jobs announced. In place of EuropaCity, the president of 95 is calling for “a real project of metropolitan scope”. Around Gonesse station (110 hectares), she pleads for a new district welcoming “a national press conservatory, a conservation center for the BNF and a media city”, as well as an annex of the Philharmonie de Paris for young audiences, a new Creps (center for resources, expertise and sports performance) and an international school complex coupled with a school of gastronomy and hotels. For the southern part of the Triangle (170 hectares), it hopes for an agrifood industry cluster “around short circuits”.

The most pressing expectations concern the social, in a department plagued by unemployment and poverty. Finally, the 95 hopes the assignment of 200 police officers and 60 additional gendarmes, the creation of 10 posts of magistrates and 25 clerks. Without forgetting the 25% increase in the number of teachers, the creation of several educational estates, one nurse per college and one doctor for three colleges, resources for the prevention of school dropout and extracurricular activities, etc. The list is long.
