Two homophobic attacks took place in four days in the Kir Lake parking lot. The first happened on Saturday April 16, 2022, the second on Wednesday April 20, 2022. In both cases, it was a group of people who attacked a homosexual man in the evening.
Homophobic attacks
On April 16, 2022, a 40-year-old homosexual man discussed and made an appointment in the Kir lake parking lot, with a user of the Coco.fr site., a free and insecure chat, regularly used for sexual encounters. Once in the Kir Lake parking lot, a group of people showed up and attacked him.
On April 20, 2022, he is a 50-year-old man, also homosexual, who was attacked by a gang, at the same time and in the same place. This time, no link with the Coco.fr site. The blows were more violent, the victim went to the Dijon University Hospital and had more than a week off work.
The Kir Lake car park is renowned for being a meeting place. Similar facts had already occurred in the Kir Lake parking lot in December 2020.
The National Police urges vigilance
The National Police has sent the message to associations linked to the Dijon LGBT community to warn members. The “National Police 21” Twitter account also indicates that security actions are being carried out in the Kir lake sector. Contacted by France Bleu Bourgogne, the National Police calls for the greatest vigilance, especially on dating sites.
