The Montélimar hospital will not be able to continue operating normally from Wednesday September 15. Some operations will have to be deprogrammed. Caregivers will be lacking with the entry into force of sanctions for unvaccinated staff against Covid-19. They will be suspended, no longer paid, and will therefore no longer be able to come to work. “Unfortunately, this minority may concern certain ultra-specialized categories in operating theaters, explains Michel Cohen, director of the Montélimar hospital. So we can’t replace them and we had to deprogram. “ According to the director, this represents “several dozen operations over a week”.
At the Montélimar hospital group, according to figures from the end of last week, 15% of the non-medical person still had not presented a vaccination certificate (253 agents out of 1695). Same for 11% of medical staff (25 practitioners out of 215). But that does not mean that all these employees are not vaccinated, some are slow to deliver the certificate, others are indeed opposed to the vaccine.
The director reassures, the CGT alerts
Despite everything, the director of the Montélimar hospital is reassuring. “Urgent operations will be dealt with, and we can always be operated safely with people who are extremely competent.”, adds Michel Cohen who sent a letter to patients affected by deprogramming to apologize. But the discourse is not the same on the side of the CGT. According to the union, the measure risks destabilizing the hospital. “There will be sanctions and suspensions in all services, whether administrative, technical or medical, alert Elsa Ruillère, assistant secretary of the hospital’s CGT. And there we risk dangerously affecting the health of patients. “
