Specialists from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control say that the predominant flu strain this year, A (H3N2), affects the elderly more and is associated with a lower effectiveness of the flu vaccine.
There are already indications, experts say, that the coming flu season could be severe. For the flu season 2021-2022, in Romania, the Ministry of Health ordered 2 million doses of influenza vaccine. These have not yet reached the family doctors.
