We recommend:
The three new deaths correspond to males. The first death was of a 23-year-old man, who suffered from cancer and was a resident of Tonalá. The second is reported in a 60-year-old person, originally from Guadalajara, and the last in a 46-year-old resident of Poncitlán, suffering from type 2 diabetes and a smoker.
“None of the three cases had been vaccinated against the flu,” reports the SSJ.
The Secretary of Health, Fernando Petersen Aranguren, stressed that the vaccination is still open with a special invitation for the elderly, children under 5, pregnant women and people with chronic diseases to come to his health unit, which has urged to receive organic as soon as possible to be protected in the coldest time of the year (January).
He recalled that, at the end of this week, one million 800 thousand doses had been applied, of the 2.5 million flu vaccines assigned to the entity, the expected date to conclude with the application is March 31, 2023.
The SSJ warns that with the low temperatures that are recorded and the greater circulation of influenza viruses they can favor serious complications in some vulnerable sections of the population, therefore, calls for the strengthening of some measures to avoid the spread of respiratory infections, such as the use of masks in poorly ventilated and closed places, and in the very first hours when there are low temperatures.
Likewise, we invite you to continue washing your hands frequently and using alcoholic gels to avoid respiratory infections in general. Similarly, the consumption of fresh foods rich in vitamin C contributes to maintaining an immune system with a better response to respiratory infections.
