The seasonal flu vaccination campaign has begun. Thanks to territorial cooperation and following the indications of the Veneto Region, the vaccination can be carried out – the doses necessary for this first session are widely distributed by the company Ulss 5 Polesana – by going to GPs and free choice pediatric offices. In addition, vaccination is available for healthcare workers, professionals, patients in hospitals and retirement homes. Special attention is given to weak people, those who have reached the age of sixty, to people who may have a serious effect on their health with a serious program of the pathology. are they suffering.

“Furthermore, the flu vaccine can be safely given alongside the Covid vaccine – explains Ulss 5 company health director Carla Destro – the vaccine is recommended for people over 60 years of age and for all people with chronic diseases”.

“The vaccine is a safe protective tool, because it prevents the onset of problems for those people who already suffer from cardiovascular diseases, and it is useful for immunocompromised subjects, diabetics, asthmatics or those with bronchopneumopathy: joining the campaign protects our health. Thanks to the Veneto Region, and to our professionals, who built the territorial network for the distribution of doses and administration: the presence of several actors remains an essential strong point,” said the general director of the company Ulss 5 Polesana Pietro Girardi.

The vaccine is recommended especially for people over 60 years old; people of any age (from six months of age) who have risk conditions, chronic diseases or disabilities; pregnant women or any period “postpartum”, including women who are breastfeeding; health and social care workers; guests for facilities for the elderly and disabled; a caretaker and family members of people with vulnerable conditions; workers employed in services of public interest (teachers, police forces, firefighters); blood donors; workers who perform activities in close contact with animals.

The doses available on Polesine are over 45,000, have already been distributed to GPs and paediatricians and vaccination is possible.
