Influencer Tries to Pay with ‘Exposure’ Causes Restaurant Owner to Go Berserk: Jakarta News

Jakarta

This influencer is considered disturbing because he tries to pay for everything with ‘exposure’. Because of this offer, a restaurant owner went berserk.

Influencers or food vloggers are considered influential figures on social media. The recommendations and experiences shared are considered to be enough to influence the audience to try the eating places they visit.

Unfortunately, some influencers or food vloggers are actually considered detrimental by restaurant owners. Many individuals seem forced to ask for free food with an agreement to exchange payment in the form of exposure or promotion on their social media.

Online promotions are considered quite helpful, but online promotions are not always needed by all eating places. Because of this influencer’s request, a restaurant owner went berserk.

The commotion was reported by Ladbible (4/3) after seeing an upload from a restaurant called Lucky Ramen. This typical Japanese food restaurant in Manchester made a surprising post after receiving a message from an influencer.

“Hello, sorry in advance if my message is too sudden but I will be coming to Manchester tomorrow and am looking for a place to eat for brunch with my partner, would you be interested in collaborating with me for a post on social media?,” wrote a short message from the influencer whose name was kept secret.

It turns out that the restaurant considered this message to be rude. They feel humiliated and the influencers who contact them are people who just want to eat for free.

The influencer who did not accept the restaurant’s upload again sent a follow-up message. This time the content was sharper, they were also angry because the message was distributed with sentences in the description column which were considered mocking.

The commotion between the two parties that took place on social media immediately sparked the attention of netizens. Many ended up highlighting the restaurant and guessing who the influencer was who was trying to pay for the food with online promotions.

After the debate lasted for a week, Lucky Ramen and Sushi again uploaded a photo of a food menu. The writing in the caption column also continues to satirize the influencer concerned.

“Our popular brunch menu has caused a lot of trouble, disappointed influencers but remains loved by regular customers. Check it out and enjoy it for yourself to see that the deliciousness is more than just the hype!” wrote the restaurant.

But the pros and cons actually arise for netizens. Some people believe in the truth of this debate and others think this is just a marketing trick.

“Who needs influencers if they can go viral?” wrote one netizen.

“It looks delicious and seems like the price is worth it, but the marketing trick is not good,” continued another netizen.
