Influencer Marna Haugen shares her May 17 plans gone wrong

The suitcase was packed and ready for the May 17 celebration on Sunnmøre, but when Marna Haugen (42) arrived at Gardermoen airport the day before the national day, the plans changed.

It wasn’t until the influencer was checking in at the airport that she discovered the mistake.

– I have managed to book a plane ticket from Volda to Gardermoen, and not from Gardermoen to Volda, says Haugen on his Instagram story.

Furthermore, the 42-year-old writes that the plane was fully booked, and when the children said no to the long car journey of 8 hours, they took their suitcases home with them.

– I know I make mistakes when I’m tired, but I was sure it was right, says Haugen to Dagbladet and adds that she has blinged out on dates in the past.

Calling for a new job

The tickets were booked when Haugen had her hands full with her son’s confirmation, and the mother admits that she has been tired after the celebration.

– I had imagined skiing in bunad, but rain has been reported. So it was just as well, she says.

New plans

Although there will no longer be a May 17 celebration with the extended family, the day must be marked.

– Once the injury has happened, I always make the best of it, and now I have time for other things.

– It will be much heavier

Large parts of the national day are celebrated by volunteering in the sausage stand at the son’s school.

After Haugen shared about the wrong booking on Instagram, several people have sent her messages regarding May 17 celebrations without extended family.

– There are several people who have small families, and who cannot celebrate with the extended family. It is important to show that you can enjoy yourself with few people, and even alone. The most important thing is to relax and eat an ice cream, says Haugen.
