Australian influencer Karina Irby has opened up about the reactions to an “innocent” dance video with her stepfather. In the TikTok video, swimwear designer Moana is seen dancing to Britney Spears’ “Work B**ch” in a string bikini in the kitchen.
Start video with a series of hip swings before adding body movements and boob movements. His stepfather, wearing only a pair of skintight swimming trunks, looked at the forceful number with obvious confusion. “What the hell are you doing?” he asked, placing a hand on his hip.
After being told her behavior was “disgusting” and “inappropriate,” Irby has now spoken out on Instagram posed to tell their side of the story.

“Guys, It’s a Hot Australian Christmas”
“First: Sorry to my stepdad Phil for all the unwanted attention LOL!” he started. “Secondly, I want to educate people who have found this ‘creepy’ and ‘inappropriate.’ Guys, it’s a warm Australian Christmas. Our family spent it poolside, hence the bathing suits.”
“We both have a good sense of humor and always like to do silly things to make others laugh and get a reaction. That’s what this video is all about. A reaction,” she wrote.
“People really need to relax, stop projecting their problems, educate themselves on what constitutes a typical Australian Christmas and stop creating a false reality in their minds. What do you think?” she asked her followers.

Fans are divided
The body positive influencer was praised by many of her followers, who agreed there was nothing wrong with the dance video.
“Hilarious. Some people needed a little bit of cheer in their Santa sacks this year,” wrote one fan. “This is the most Aussie thing I’ve ever seen and I love it. Stepdads are like the best too friends, enjoy the friendship,” said another.
“I think people have a warped mindset. Why does everything always have to go wrong? I thought it was funny. Especially your stepfather asking you, ‘What the hell are you doing,'” added a third.
However, there were also a handful of fans who couldn’t agree with Karina. “I’m on your side, but please don’t dance like that in front of your stepfather. I have to save my horror for the rest of the internet,” one fan pleaded.
“I mean, I would never feel comfortable around family…that sounds super gross. It’s something that should be reserved for friends/partners,” commented another. “This is awful. Really not funny at all. There’s absolutely no reason why you should ever shake your ass in front of your bikini-clad stepdad! Oh girl, get your act together,” commented another.
