The popular influencer Anthony Barajas died of his injuries after he was shot on Monday night.

It reports the Corona Police Department, according to CBS Los Angeles. The death has been reported by several American media.

Barajas was at the cinema with her friend Rylee Goodrich (18) in the city of Corona, southeast of Los Angeles. She also lost his life in the attack. He was seriously injured and was placed on a respirator after the shooting.

The couple is said to have been on their first date, according to Goodrich’s father in an interview with FOX 11.

Barajas has over 920,000 followers on TikTok, and over 43,000 followers on Instagram.

Man arrested

According to CBS, it was the cleaning staff at the Regal Edwards cinema who found the couple shot, and alerted the police.

“At one point, an employee went into the cinema hall to wash or clean, and then the emergency call was called in,” Tobias Kouroubacalis from the police in Corona told CBS on Thursday.

The police should not have been clearly informed of what had happened, but were told that someone was bleeding. Thus, the officers did not know what they were going to until they arrived at the scene, and found the gunshot wounded youths.

No weapons were found at the scene.

The young couple was shot during a screening of “The Forever Purge”. Only six tickets had been sold for the show.

A 20-year-old man was arrested within 72 hours. The attack seemed unprovoked, according to Corona police. The motive for the shooting is still unknown, and the arrested man is not said to have known Barajas or Goodrich.
