Influencer Andrew Tate arrested in Romania

Influencer Andrew Tate and his brother have been arrested in Romania on suspicion of human trafficking.

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate have been arrested for human trafficking in Romania. This was reported by the Romanian police in a Press release.

On Thursday, a luxurious mansion belonging to Tate and his brother Tristan was raided by armed police. The raid was carried out by the Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation Directorate (DIICOT).

Tate’s home was also raided earlier this year by Romanian police on charges of organized human trafficking.

Kidnappings, rapes and human trafficking

The police specify that the two British brothers have been under investigation for several months for an alleged kidnapping of two young women in the municipality of Voluntari.

They are also suspected of rape and of forming an organized crime group for human trafficking. In addition to the two brothers, two Romanian citizens will also be part of this group, according to the press release.

According to police, the brothers recruited female victims by pretending to have intentions of marriage or affairs with them, a tactic known as the “loverboy” method.

– Subsequently they were transported and housed in buildings where, with the help of physical violence and mental coercion, they were sexually exploited by the members of the group.

Furthermore, they write that the victims were forced to participate in pornographic material, in order to broadcast it for profit. Six people have been identified so far who have been exploited by the criminal group, police say.

No names were identified in the press release, but Romanian media reported on Thursday evening that the British brothers were identified as Andrew and Tristan Tate.

A video in Romanian media shows Tate being led out of a building by three police officers and into a police car. There is a lot of press present.

Andrew Tate has claimed things like ‘women belong at home’, that they ‘can’t drive’ and that they are ‘a man’s property’. He also believes rape victims should “take responsibility” for the attacks they are subjected to, he wrote. The Guardian I August.

Thunberg’s sting

On Wednesday, Gretha Thunberg took a little jab at Tate, after he addressed this message to her:

“Hi Greta Thunberg. I have 33 cars,” wrote Tate, showing how big the engines are in his Bugatti and two Ferraris.

“This is just the beginning. Please give me your email so I can send you the complete listing of my car collection and the massive emissions of each,” writes Tate.

Thunberg replied:

“Yes, please enlighten me,” Thunberg replies on Wednesday, adding:

“Email me at [email protected]”.
