As part of their ongoing The Game Awards event, Inflexion Games just shared a new look at their upcoming co-world survival creation game, Nightingale. Before the game officially arrives and enters early access in the first half of 2023, the developer has been showing off some of the new features that will be coming and available in the game.
These include a Mary Poppins-inspired gliding system that allows players to glide gently through the air using an umbrella and an extensive cave system that can be explored and will no doubt lead to a variety of useful equipment and loot and deadly enemies and dangerous. And on the subject of enemies, the trailer showcases some of the other enemies fantasy adventures will have to offer, including Giants, Elder Eotens, and the aggressive Bound variant that will pose a threat to anyone who crosses their path while exploring the Fey Realms.
Otherwise, as part of a recent press briefing, we were told a little more about the roadmap and how some systems will work. Speaking of the latter, Inflexion stated that at Early Access launch the game will be fully cooperative, that six friends will be able to join the world at once, and that there are no plans for PvP combat any time soon. The development team has plans to increase the number of players in the realm in the future, but it will start on a smaller scale. As for the roadmap, we’ve been told that there will be a beta in early 2023, before EA launches, and that the current console version isn’t one of the immediate things the studio will be focusing on.
While the exact dates for the beta and early access launch haven’t been revealed, you can check out The Game Awards gameplay trailer below.
