Due to the indices of exchange-traded food, the prices of food and beverages in our country are starting to rise.

Not only fuel but also food prices are rising
Monthly inflation accelerated sharply in April, reaching 0.7%, according to NSI data.
This is the highest monthly inflation since January last year – then it was 0.9%, but with the onset of the pandemic
prices have begun
to decrease
and for most of the time, until this spring, there was almost no upward movement.
The annual inflation – the comparison of prices in April 2021 with those in May 2020, is already 2%, and the average annual is 0.8%. This is inflation in the period May 2020 – April 2021 compared to the previous one year.
Rising inflation was expected, with the main reason, at least for now, being that fuels have taken off and transport costs are rising, which inevitably pumps up price indices. However, in April, food also began to rise in price, as did clothing, housing costs, bank fees and a host of other goods and services.
The two most popular fuels – gasoline A-95 and diesel, rose in April by 3.1 and 2.9%, respectively, compared to March. This also applies to all other motor fuels – propane-butane, methane and the more expensive gasoline A-100H. Respectively and
the cost of
transport of
the Bulgarian in
April are with
2.1% higher,
than in March. Compared to a year earlier, fuels already cost 15.7% more.
The increase in the indices of exchange-traded foodstuffs worldwide is already being felt in our country through the prices of foodstuffs, which
have increased
by 1.1% for
one month
So far, this increase is mainly seasonal, and compared to a year earlier, food and soft drinks have hardly risen – their price increase is still 0.3%.
With the highest percentage in April – 6.6%, the prices of clothes and shoes have risen. But they had fallen so much in 2020 that they still cost an average of 3% less than a year earlier.
People’s spending on housing is also rising sharply. The main overheads – the bills for electricity, water, heating, gas rose by 0.2% in April compared to March, and the furniture and consumables for the home – by 0.1%. On an annual basis, however, they are 2.9 and 1.5% more expensive, respectively.
The introduction from the end of March and the beginning of April of a new initial taxi fare,
which happened
double,
it immediately affected the prices of taxi services, which rose by 2.7%.
Bank fees continue the trend of continuous increase. In April alone, they rose by 1%, and compared to a year earlier they are already 23.9% higher.
There is a whole class of household goods,
whose prices
continue
to fall with
different
percent
– household appliances, recording media, telephones, computers, sound and image reproducing apparatus, cameras and video cameras, etc.
Hotel services are now 6.5% cheaper than a year earlier, but this is not the case for restaurants, which are 3% more expensive. In April alone, the number of meals in a restaurant rose by another 0.4%.
