Average fuel prices rose in July compared to June.

The annual change in the harmonized consumer price index was 0.6% in July, says Statistics Finland based on its preliminary data.
Inflation accelerated slightly compared to June. In June, the annual change in the harmonized consumer price index was 0.5%.
According to preliminary data, the monthly change in the harmonized consumer price index in July was 0.3%.
Traffic became the most expensive
In July, the biggest monthly change in inflation was in traffic, 1.06 percent.
Average fuel prices rose in July 2024 compared to the previous month. The average taxed price of diesel was 1.8 euros and gasoline 95 was 1.9 euros per liter. The corresponding average price of gasoline 98 was 2.0 euros and light fuel oil 1.4 euros.
Prices fell the most in July from June in the groups health (-1.16%) and in the group furniture, household appliances and general housekeeping (-0.88%).
The harmonized consumer price index (YKHI) does not include owner-occupied housing, gambling, interest on consumer and other loans, fire insurance for single-family houses, vehicle tax or fishing and hunting fees. The consumption items and compilation rules included in the harmonized consumer price index are defined by EU regulations.
The preliminary data will be specified after the statistical month, when the data collection has completely ended at the end of the month.
