An Infiniti Q50 recovered by a bank in Romania is being sold at an attractive price. The Japanese sedan is equipped with a diesel engine from Mercedes.
Not so long ago, all the manufacturers were trying to offer diesel engines in their cars. Either they developed them from scratch or borrowed them from other manufacturers, and the cases were not few. Since they wanted to have as large a share of sales in the European market as possible, manufacturers such as Infiniti turned to various European car brands that had more experience in the development and manufacture of diesel engines.
Exactly this principle also applies to the car we are talking about, namely the Infiniti Q50, a model equipped with a 2.2 liter diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz. It is a more attractive option in Romania, especially if we consider that these cars also had 3.5-liter V6 engines, much more heavily taxed and much less economical.
This 2.2-liter engine can be found on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class or E-Class, for example, and the one mounted on the Infiniti Q50 develops 170 HP, being supercharged with two turbines. Fixed, this copy is also equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
How much is the Japanese sedan with a Mercedes engine?
The copy listed for sale by BT Leasing it is manufactured in 2016 and has 178,372 kilometers on it, which is not a huge amount considering that the car is 7 years old.
On the outside, the car looks good, with no signs of an accident or other scratches and bumps. The black paint has held up well over time, and the 17-inch alloy wheels are not bent and are fitted with winter tires. It’s a sporty-looking car meant to compete with the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class or Audi A4, and the sporty shape and long hood give the car a premium look, a segment it competed with at the time.
The interior is not far off either, even if it is no longer a technological benchmark. The example sold by BT Leasing is equipped with leather seats, heated, but with manual adjustments. There are two screens in the center of the dashboard, but the ad states that the reversing camera system is not working. Otherwise, we see the usual options, such as dual-zone climate control, rain sensors, automatic pilot or electrically adjustable mirrors.
The asking price for this example of the Infiniti Q50 is 14,875 euros including VAT. Would you buy such a car with this engine?
