Infineon Technologies AG (ISIN: DE0006231004) announced today that it has started construction of a new factory for analog/mixed-signal technologies and power semiconductors.
The Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) has approved the early start of the project. The location for the new semiconductor factory is Dresden.

According to the grant procedure, the project should be funded in accordance with the goals of the European Chips Act.
Infineon expects public funding of around one billion euros. The company is planning a total investment of around five billion euros in the plant, which is scheduled to start production in 2026.
It is also the largest single investment in the history of Infineon Technologies. In October last year, Infineon opened a new chip plant for power semiconductors in Hungary.
In July 2022, the foundation stone was also laid for the construction of the third power semiconductor fab module in Malaysia.
The company from Munich recently started the two European research initiatives “PowerizeD” and “Listen2Future” and completed the EU project “Power2Power”.
