Infections in Belgium decrease by 17 percent in week | Abroad

The number of admissions to Belgian hospitals is also falling, but the average number of deaths per day continues to increase. In the past week, an average of ten people a day died from Covid-19, an increase of 52 percent in a week. The total death toll in the country stands at 9,985.

The decrease in the number of corona cases is evident in most of Belgium, but in the region of Brussels it is still increasing. In a week, 874 infections were detected around the capital, 68 more than a week earlier.

In recent months, 80,894 people have become infected with the corona virus in Belgium. The number of hospital admissions is 29.7 per day. There are 74 patients in intensive care units.
