Infection with Covid-19 is no longer registered in Stopiņi and Valka counties – Society and Politics – News

With the recovery of several patients, the number of Covid-19 cases in Riga dropped to 83 infected. The number of infected in Stopiņi and Valka counties was previously limited to one to five cases.

The only case of Covid-19 diagnosed last day was registered in Riga – the infected is in the age group from 20 to 29 years.

Active cases of Covid-19 cases are currently registered in 24 Latvian municipalities – Gulbene, Priekuli, Babīte, Burtnieki, Garkalne, Līvāni, Jelgava, Ķekava, Kocēni, Ogre, Olaine, Madona, Mārupe, Salaspils, Sigulda, Talsi and Viļaka counties, as also in Riga, Valmiera, Liepaja, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Jurmala and Rezekne.

It has already been reported that one new case of Covid-19 was registered in Latvia last day, but seven more Covid-19 patients recovered within a week, according to the latest statistics compiled by the SPKC.

SPKC representative Ilze Arāja revealed to LETA that the new case is related to infection in a red list country.

During the last 24 hours, 1574 Covid-19 tests have been performed in Latvia, but so far a total of 193,445 examinations have been performed.

According to the data of July 21, 1,045 patients had recovered from Covid-19, but according to the data published today, the number of recovered people has reached 1,052.

To date, 190 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from the hospital, including both those who have recovered and those who have died.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak in Latvia, a total of 1,220 people have contracted the disease caused by the new coronavirus, of whom 1,052 have recovered and 31 have died, according to SPKC data.
