infection rates, Oslo | 2,170 new corona infections registered in Oslo in the last 24 hours – a new record

2,170 new corona infections have been registered in Oslo in the last 24 hours. That is 1,291 more than the same day last week, and 95 more than on Wednesday.


The figures show the municipality publish on their websites. In the last two weeks, an average of 1,037 infections have been registered per day.

This is the third day in a row with record high infection rates. On 5 January, 1,771 cases were registered in one day, while the previous peak in infection in Oslo was 6 January. At that time, 2,075 cases were registered.

The infection rates are highest in the Søndre Nordstrand district. Here, there is an infection pressure of 2,693 infected per 100,000 inhabitants in the last two weeks.

This is followed by Grorud and the Old Town of Oslo with 2,552 and 2,442, respectively.

The figures are lowest in the districts of Nordre Aker, Ullern and Nordstrand.

A total of 106,743 Oslo citizens have been registered infected since March 2020.
