Five hoteliers from the island of Usedom have filed a constitutional complaint against the Federal Infection Protection Act. There is no compensation regulation in the event of decreed closings.
Five hoteliers from the island of Usedom want to overturn the federal infection protection law with a constitutional complaint. One of the plaintiffs is the managing partner of the Baltic Hotel in Zinnowitz, Tim Dornbusch. He criticizes the fact that, as an entrepreneur, he only receives financial compensation if the house itself becomes ill and the hotel has to close because of it.
Hoteliers fear for investment security
The compensation will not be given if the hotel is closed due to a government order. This is a loophole in the Infection Protection Act, which was not closed when it was amended on Wednesday in the Bundestag, according to Dornbusch’s lawyer. The constitutional complaint was prepared jointly by several hoteliers on the island. They complain that there is no longer any investment security for them. Large houses invested millions in maintenance and modernization with the help of loans. If the income was lost, it would hardly be possible to service the loans.
