Infected with coronavirus in France doubled in the last 24 hours

The number of people infected with the new coronavirus in France has doubled in the last 24 hours, to 38 confirmed cases at 7 pm (6 pm in Lisbon) against 6 pm the day before, announced Health Minister Olivier Véran.

The figures may, however, change in light of ongoing investigations, the official added at a press conference.

Among the new cases detected is that of a group of 12 people related to two patients identified on Wednesday in Oise, near Paris.

The provisional balance of the Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic is more than 2,800 dead and more than 82,000 infected people, according to data reported by about 50 countries and territories.

Of the infected people, more than 33,000 recovered.
