They multiply constantly and pretend that the treatment is not working. Although it is possible that this is a commonplace trick of the infection, so that the body stops fighting it.
Unfortunately, modern drugs can only stop the infection of new cells. As for the already affected particles, a method for their treatment has not yet been invented.
At the moment, scientists are figuring out whether replicons are capable of infecting healthy cells or are just decoration. Nevertheless, duplicate cells are quite capable of heating up inflammatory processes, which in itself is dangerous for the body and something needs to be done about it.

According to experts, the molecules of the drug suppress the viral protein Nef, which helps the disease hide from immune cells. The scientists added that the antibiotic eradicated the infected particles as efficiently as with the nef deletion virus.
