Infanta Cristina of Spain Officially Divorces Husband Iñaki Urdangarin after 25 Years Marriage: Full Details and Updates

The sister of King Philip VI of Spain, Infanta Cristina, officially divorced her husband.

In January 2022, the press was rocked by the news that the princess had filed for divorce from her husband Iñaki Urdangarin, with whom she had been married for 25 years and had four children with him.

And now, two years later, the couple officially signed the divorce papers.

According to the Spanish publication Hola!, the former spouses filed for divorce by mutual consent in Barcelona. Under the terms of the agreement, Infanta Cristina will bear the costs of her four children (sons Juan, Pablo, Miguel and daughter Irene) until they become financially independent, writes Vanity Fair.

Over the past two years, the life of the sister of King Philip VI has undergone great changes on the personal front. She continues to live in Geneva, the city where she settled with her then-husband and children more than ten years ago and where, after their separation, she also found refuge away from the attention of the press and photographers. She has been working for the La Caixa Foundation for almost 20 years. At the beginning of 2021, Infanta became president of the board of trustees of IsGlobal, the Barcelona Institute for Global Health, a non-profit organization that was born from the collaboration of the La Caixa Foundation with other institutions.

Let us remind you that even before filing for divorce, Christina’s husband was caught by the paparazzi on the beach with his mistress.
