WASHINGTON, KOMPAS.TV – Russia is reportedly continuing to increase its troops on the Ukrainian border, despite threats of sanctions if they attack its neighbour.
The addition of troops carried out by Russia was disclosed by the United States Department of State on Wednesday (12/22/2021).
“Russia continues to escalate and has not reduced its troop buildup,” a State Department spokesman said The Moscow Times.
The spokesman said the US and its allies are currently monitoring the situation more closely.

He also repeated that further aggression against Ukraine would have grave consequences and would come at a heavy price.
Apart from the US, Germany also reported more troop movements on the border between Russia and Ukraine.
The West accuses Moscow of mobilizing tens of thousands of troops across the border to prepare for a possible invasion of Ukraine.
The West and the United Nations have threatened to impose massive sanctions if Russia finally moves to attack Ukraine.
