The Commission of Prerogatives and Political Parties of the National Electoral Institute (INE) approved a preliminary draft agreement of the General Council (CG) by which the 2025 financial year is distributed among the six national parties, which amounts to 7 thousand 354 million 266 thousand 504 pesos.public financing
According to the document, which has yet to be discussed by the CG, Morena will receive the highest level of resources: 2 thousand 584 million 356 thousand 877 pesos; followed by the PAN: one thousand 294 million 93 thousand 318; the PRI: 985 million 302 thousand 647; and Citizen Movement: 972 million 417 thousand 271.
Meanwhile, for the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico: 838 million 97 thousand 566 pesos and for the Labor Party (PT) 679 million 998 thousand 825 pesos.
The total public financing for the year 2025, which covers resources for permanent, specific ordinary activities, as well as the postal and telegraphic prerogative, had already been approved by the CG last August, but its distribution among the parties was pending after that the PRD lost its registration by not having obtained at least three percent of the valid votes cast in the federal election held on June 2.
Thus, unanimously, the commission chaired by Dania Ravel agreed that the resource for the maintenance of permanent ordinary activities and for specific activities, which is equivalent to 7 thousand 213 million 504 thousand 956 pesos, “30 percent be distributed equally and the remaining 70 percent according to the percentage of votes obtained in the election of federal deputies.”
In the extraordinary session, a draft agreement was also approved that updates the guidelines for the verification of the minimum number of people affiliated with citizen organizations interested in establishing themselves as a local political party starting in 2025.
