Mexico City. The Executive General Board of the National Electoral Institute (INE) declared the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) deregistered, because it did not obtain at least three percent of the valid votes cast in the election of June 2.
The decision to conclude this process must be passed by the General Council of the institute, which is scheduled for the session of September 20, which will conclude this issue related to the 2024 electoral process.
The highest vote for the sun Aztec was in the election for deputies, where it achieved 2.43 percent of the total vote, that is, one million 449 thousand 660 votes out of more than 59 million. In the election for senators it reached 2.27 percent with 1.3 million votes and in the presidential election it could not even reach two percent, since it was left with 1.8 percent of the more than 60 million Mexicans who voted on June 2.
With this declaration, the PRD has 72 hours to “argue what is appropriate” so that after what is delivered, the draft opinion can be prepared “to be in a position to submit it to the General Council” for approval, it was read in the extraordinary session of the General Executive Board yesterday.
In the midst of this legal process, at least the two senators that were obtained in the 66th Legislature did not last even 24 hours in the party that nominated them, because after the installation of the upper house, Morena announced that they were joining the 4T, thus completely killing their presence in this chamber.
