INE Approved Catalog of Radio and TV Programs for Election Monitoring in Oaxaca

The General Council of the State Electoral and Citizen Participation Institute of Oaxaca in an Extraordinary Session, approved the Catalog of radio and television programs that disseminate news and that will be subject to general monitoring, as well as the criteria to identify digital media that disseminate news for the purpose of monitoring during pre-campaigns and electoral campaigns in the Ordinary Electoral Process 2023-2024, in the state of Oaxaca.

Said Catalog was created, through the INE, with the programs that disseminate news with the greatest impact at the local level, indicating the political relevance of each one, as well as the so-called entertainment or magazine programs. To this end, aspects such as greater national audience, territorial equity, demographic representativeness, political relevance, type of media, among others, established in article 300 of the Election Regulations, were considered.

The above will allow us to know the treatment that the media provides to the coverage of the pre-campaigns and electoral campaigns of the candidacies for the Local Councils of the State Congress, as well as Councilors for the City Councils that are governed by Political Parties.

The Electoral Institute of Oaxaca has contemplated the monitoring of digital media, so it considered appropriate to approve the criteria to be able to carry it out on digital portals that disseminate news on the Internet, considering it necessary to obtain true, timely, complete, plural and impartial information. weighing the guarantees and right to information established in article 6 of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.

During the session, the agreement was approved by which the citizens who were members of the 05 District Council with headquarters in Asunción Nochixtlán were appointed for the Ordinary Electoral Process 2020-2021, replacing those who have resigned from their position.

In the decentralized body of the IEEPCO, Olgalidia Miguel Trinidad was appointed as Proprietary Electoral Councilor, replacing Itzel Fuentes Cruz. Miguel Ángel Pérez Martínez was also appointed to replace Olgalidia Miguel Trinidad as Alternate Electoral Councilor.

Finally, the electoral councils qualified as ordinary council elections for the City Councils of: San Lucas Camotlán, Santa María Alotepec, Santiago Camotlán, Santo Domingo Yodohino, Tanetze de Zaragoza and extraordinary elections for Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, which electorally are governed by Indigenous Regulatory Systems.
