With a fastest lap of 1’45”3399, the Penske rider edged Colton Herta (Andretti) by 1/10, and Graham Rahal (RLL) by 3/10.

Best time in FP1, Romain Grosjean confirmed the good performance of his No. 51, with which he set the 4th fastest time, less than three hours before the start of the qualifying session (8:30 p.m. HF).

Still on the French side, Sébastien Bourdais (AJ Foyt) was the 8th fastest in the session, while Simon Pagenaud, 17th in FP1, remains behind, with a 14th fastest time.

Note, the 5th time of Oliver Askew, who plays freelance with Ed Carpenter, after replacing last week, Felix Rosenqvist (McLaren SP), at a moment’s notice. This weekend, he comes to compensate for the absence of Rinus VeeKay, victim of a bicycle accident (collarbone).
