Indycar: Marcus Ericsson without a chance – victory for Will Power | Formula 1 News

The Swede Marcus Ericsson missed another coup at the seventh race of the IndyCar series in Detroit.

The 31-year-old former Formula 1 driver, who raked in the record sum of $3.1 million from his triumph at the legendary Indianapolis 500 last Sunday, finished seventh in Australian Will Power’s victory.

Power (Penske), who started 16th, took over the lead from pole setter Josef Newgarden (USA) on lap 15 and never relinquished it. Thanks to his success in front of the American Alexander Rossi and the New Zealander Scott Dixon, he also took the overall lead from Ericsson. Former Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean had to settle for 17th place.
