After more than two months of compulsory cessation due to the pandemic of the new Coronavirus (Covid-19) which did not fail to have a serious impact on the socio-economic situation of these transport professionals, the drivers of large taxis Errachidia have recently returned to service by providing trips to other cities in Morocco.

This resumption of activity was preceded by screening tests for the new Coronavirus from which the drivers benefited, as well as by disinfection of their vehicles by the municipal hygiene offices.

In the same context, drivers and travelers were called upon to strictly comply with health safety instructions to limit the spread of the new Coronavirus, as well as with organizational measures relating to the management of public transport, all categories combined, decided by the Ministry of the Interior for the same purpose.

Despite the resumption of activity, both transport professionals in Drâa-Tafilalet and travelers are aware of the fact that vigilance must remain in order, knowing that the number of seats has been set at three for large taxis instead of six.

The return of the big taxis was greeted with great relief by the transport professionals in Drâa-Tafilalet and especially by the citizens who can now travel again to visit their loved ones or to do tourism, especially after the transition to the second stage of ” sanitary containment relief plan ”from midnight on June 24, 2020, which takes into account the need to strike a balance between the evolution of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom and the requirements for a gradual return to normal life and the revival of the national economy.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water recently decided to gradually resume transport activities, after almost three months of shutdown, as part of the preventive measures taken to stem the spread of the new Coronavirus, a decision that was welcomed with satisfaction by users and stakeholders in the sector.

In order to preserve the safety of travelers, professionals and employees, the line ministry has set up specifications relating to the management of the risks of the spread of the pandemic for transport companies and their employees, as well as specifications relating to bus stations.
