Industry Minister Christophe Sirugue packs his boxes

François Hollande chaired his last Council of Ministers on Wednesday May 10, 2017. The entire government was present, and in particular the Burgundian Christophe Sirugue, Secretary of State for Industry.

It is Sunday, May 14 that François Hollande will hand over the keys to the Elysée to his successor Emmanuel Macron. In the meantime, in the ministries, it’s time to move.

After eight months spent at Bercy, Christophe Sirugue, Secretary of State for Industry, Digital and Innovation is packing. The elected representative of Saône-et-Loire prepares the transmission of files to the future team. At the time of leaving the golds of the Republic, he claims to have no nostalgia. “I have the feeling of having done the work for which I was called, of having served my country”, says the former PS deputy for Saône-et-Loire and mayor of Chalon-sur-Saône.

Eight days after his arrival, he had to deal with the announcement of the closure of the Alstom Belfort site. With his teams, he has also worked on the many business cases that have made the news in recent months: Whirlpool, the takeover of the Saint-Nazaire shipyards, GMS, etc.

Christophe Sirugue will now devote himself to the campaign for the legislative elections. He is running in the 5th constituency (that of Chalon) with his alternate Catherine Goepfer. From tomorrow Thursday, May 11, both are organizing a public meeting in Lux, in Saône-et-Loire. Christophe Sirugue was elected in 2007 in the 5th constituency, then re-elected in 2012 before resigning in September 2016 to join the government.

During his mandates as a deputy, he was notably rapporteur for the “Labour Law” project. He also wrote several reports for the government and proposed the merger of the employment bonus and the activity RSA.
