Industrialists ask for the reopening of Arco Norte and the Mexico-Puebla highway

Mexico City. The country’s industry, led by the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Concamin), asked the federal government to engage in constructive dialogue with the dissident groups that have blocked the Mexico-Puebla highway and the Arco Norte.

In a brief statement, organizations such as the National Chamber of Cargo Transportation (Canacar) and the National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor Producers (Anpact) and the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA) considered it essential to prioritize dialogue and the building of consensus that will allow the reestablishment of vehicular traffic on this important road, which has seen several hours of interruption in circulation.

“The Mexico-Puebla highway is a fundamental axis for the transportation of people and goods, and its prolonged blockage generates significant economic and social damages,” said the document, which is also signed by the National Chamber of Passenger and Tourism Transportation (Canapat).

They stressed that public and road safety for all those who use this road must be a priority for the authorities.

“It is imperative to ensure that the necessary measures are taken to guarantee the safety and well-being of citizens and transporters affected by this situation,” they said.

The industrial sector reiterated its willingness to collaborate in the search for solutions that promote understanding and a prompt resolution of this conflict, for the benefit of society as a whole.
