JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT PLN (Persero) is encouraging the conversion of LPG stove use to induction cooker in the community.
PLN’s Director of Commerce and Customer Management, Bob Saril, said that one of the main advantages of induction stoves is the cost savings incurred by the community.
This is reflected in the results of a technical study of the PLN Institute of Technology laboratory. The test results show that to cook 1 liter of water using a 1,200 watt induction stove only costs Rp. 158, while with a 12 kg LPG stove it is around Rp. 176.

Bob said, the use of induction stoves is also more efficient than electric stoves.
In contrast to electric stoves, induction stoves no longer use filaments or heat-conducting parts to frying containers or the like.
“With this induction stove technology, he induces everything, for example, there is iron in the pan, it is completely heated so that it is only through induction,” Bob said in a press conference at the PLN Head Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (27/10/2020).

Bob further explained that conducting heat with an induction cooker is carried out using magnetic technology. This way, the heat will be much more even than using an electric stove.
“So it’s more efficient,” said Bob.
To support the conversion of LPG stoves to induction stoves, PLN has prepared various service promotion programs, such as adding power or new connections.
